The Cheatgrass Problem

With all the rain that we have gotten here in Northern Nevada, and in the Sierra Nevada's there is an ever growing problem that is lurking. The cheatgrass is growing and growing fast. According to KTVN Reno news channel 2, there are multiple generations of grass growing this year, instead of the typical one generation that is the norm. What does this mean? That there will be a lot more grass out there, that is like gasoline on the ground. This means fires have the potential to grow big at alarming rates of speed, and that it's important to have the proper defensible space for your home to give it the best possible chance at surviving a wildfire.
